Synopsis:

For the first time since the birth of their youngest in August 2023, Maya and Marc are finally treating themselves to a moment just for the two of them. With Lucas on vacation, they entrust Djulian to his grandmother and escape to the mountains, skis on their feet.

Six years after the first webisode of their last getaway, we find them once again on the slopes of Les Crosets, in the Portes du Soleil ski area, as well as in Verbier. Under a radiant sun and in perfect conditions, the couple rediscovers the joy of skiing together. Far from the hustle and bustle of daily life, they reconnect with the bond forged by their shared passion: telemark skiing.

Maya is growing more confident with her new Reliance 92 skis from Armada, which suit her perfectly. She carves turns with ease, a smile on her face—a visible source of pride. Meanwhile, Marc is thrilled with his new cameras, which he is getting the hang of. He passionately captures every movement, every emotion, immortalizing these moments of togetherness.

The timing couldn’t have been better—this weekend happened to be Valentine’s Day! A return to their roots that reminds them that, despite the passing years and their responsibilities, their love for telemark skiing—and for each other—remains unchanged.

The story:

For the first time since the birth of our youngest in August 2023, we are finally treating ourselves to a romantic weekend on the slopes. A well-deserved break, far from family obligations, baby bottles and diapers, homework, and daily routines.

We kick off this getaway in the middle of the week, taking advantage of the fact that the kids are at school and daycare, for a first stop in the Portes du Soleil ski area, specifically in Les Crosets. The weather is splendid, the conditions are perfect, and most importantly, we reconnect with the bond that has united us for so many years. Just the two of us, skis on, savoring the present moment.

My new Reliance 92 skis from Armada give me total confidence! As for Marc, he’s completely absorbed in his new cameras, and luckily for me, he isn’t going as fast as he does with his usual ski buddies, which means I don’t end up too far behind. He introduces me to his equipment, plays with angles, and tests different shots. When he tells me that I slow him down much less, he’s probably right compared to six years ago, but let’s be honest—there’s still a lot of work to do before I can keep up with him everywhere! But that’s not the point. What truly matters is the joy of sharing a passion that has become ours, of cherishing this precious time together, filled with happiness and love.

The weekend arrives, and with it, Valentine’s Day. Lucas has gone on vacation with his dad, and Djulian is in good hands, looked after by his grandmother. Off to Verbier! We settle into a charming little hotel right in the heart of the village, Les Chamois, where we receive a warm welcome.

Saturday is simply magical. We explore the 4 Vallées ski area, carving turns and capturing the best moments. The atmosphere is lighthearted—maybe even a bit too much at times! A little overconfidence (thanks to my skis!) leads to a small fall—nothing serious, just enough to have a good laugh and keep me in check. A few well-deserved breaks allow us to toast and savor these precious moments, with no rush—just the simple joy of being together.

In the evening, we treat ourselves to a sumptuous dinner. A perfectly cooked Chateaubriand, paired with an excellent red wine. A true moment of pleasure, where everything seems to align to make this Valentine’s Day even more special.

A perfect weekend filled with connection, shared passion, and a sense of freedom rediscovered. A breath of fresh air that allows us to recharge before heading back home—where it’ll be time to relieve Grandma and reunite with our little one for cherished family moments. ❤️
